I used the entire pad of charcoal paper in this book, which gives it 32 large, unfolded pages. The back cover is plain red velvet, while the front is a combination of the same velvet plus some grey linen. A stripe of cream cardstock (also used on the inside) ties this design together.
I once again chose the Japanese stab binding method so they could remain quite large. For this book, I used the tortoise shell stitching pattern in a golden brown waxed thread, which I think shows up nicely against the red as well as the linen.
The artist who uses this book will need to fold down the pages when they use it (as I left it uncreased), but the cover already folds completely flat so it won’t be in their way.
