This notebook is most notably made from recycled materials. My parents install blinds, drapes, and other window coverings for a living, and the saddest thing is how much perfectly fine material is thrown in the dump—sometimes even brand-new! We simply can’t store it all. I’m happy to be able to use at least some of the material from old blinds in my book-making.
This notebook is a softcover. The pages are attached using a modified saddlestitch, and the roller shade fabric is flexible. The woven pattern gives a unique effect, allowing you to see slightly through to the pages below. It’s both smooth and textured under the fingers. I used a dark brown waxed embroidery floss, which I thought would go nicely with the light grey cover.
