Here is a second painting/art book made with Strathmore watercolour paper. It’s 12 sheets of paper made specifically for watercolour painting, though it can also be used for other mediums like gouache (water-based paint designed to be opaque) or ink.
This book is a hardcover, and I used a fabric that’s a blend of cotton and viscose (cactus silk). I like the method of gluing the front and back covers separately from the spine, then combining the three. I used just a plain white waxed embroidery floss for the stitching so it doesn’t take away from the elegance of the cover, and so it won’t clash with anything the owner of this book will eventually paint. The interior uses a beautiful silver paper that I thought paired well with the cover fabric.
With all 12 sheets folded in half, this book has a total of 24 pages for different paintings. The trim size is 6 by 9 inches, and I’ve used the long stitch method once again to bind this book.
