I decided to head back to the basics for this one. The long stitch pattern I used is the simplest design, and I absolutely LOVE the way it looks against the black spine paper.
I’ve had this cover made for a while and I just needed to find the right interior pages for it. Since the spine is 1-inch wide, I needed to use either seven signatures without glue, or twelve signatures for case binding. As you can see, I settled on the long stitch method.
I found this striped orange paper at a thrift store while sorting through other decorative papers, and I immediately fell in love. It’s close to tiger print, after all, and tigers hold a special place in my heart. The pairing paper is again just plain black cardstock, and while I could’ve used a bright orange waxed thread for the spine, I didn’t have anything that matched perfectly, so I went with white, and I love how it turned out. Getting back to basics was an excellent idea, as the spine is uniform and crisp, which balances out the fun, uneven lines on the front and back covers.
The pages inside this book are dotted, and there is no imprint. It’s the perfect choice for people who write as well as design and/or draw in their notebooks because the dots allow for guidance without being obtrusive. There are 280 pages in this notebook, so it’ll last you a while.
