I’m always looking for new patterns for books using long stitch. It’s half the fun to make the template prior to stitching.

The cover uses a busy pattern of jungle-like plants and flowers, and I balanced it out with a less busy green paper for the spine and interior. Furthermore, to match the colour of the front and back and contrast against the spine, I used a dark blue waxed thread. As typical of long stitched books, each signature is stitched directly to the spine.

I’m a big fan of reptiles, and I hope to make a large line of notebooks for other lovers of these vastly misunderstood creatures!
