This book was a real treat to make, though the fabric made it tricky.

I created this crest in photoshop, using a crest background overlaid with the blue satin finish, and added a two-headed eagle heraldic crest and crown to balance out the design. From there, I built the book.

The overall stitch is quite simple, just a plain long stitch pattern made using a dark blue waxed thread to lightly stand out against the fabric without being overpowering. The fabric was the hardest part of the whole design, as each segment is filled with stuffing, which I needed to be mindful of when gluing the cover.

There are 140 lined pages in this notebook, trimmed to 5 by 8 inches. It’s the perfect gift for the fantasy lovers in your life, or even just those who love textured notebooks to write in.
