This book is a custom order. The client reached out to be to make this for her father for Father’s Day, as this is a biography he wrote and previously had just printed out in a binder.

We started with a simple copyedit to catch most of the errors. Once the text was edited, I used InDesign for typesetting. The total page count ended up being 212, so I split it into nine signatures (with six pages each, the last one five pages). I recently bought some natural vellum paper for novel printing, so I used that.

It took so many tries to make the dust jacket for this book, as my printer wasn’t co-operating. Eventually, I got it though! I'm super proud of how it turned out. I bound the book using the French Link stitch method and reinforced the spine with glue and bookbinding mesh. For the end sheets, I used a thicker cardstock with a similar parchment pattern as the paper itself, and glued it in.
