I’m trying something new again with this pebbled leather gratitude journal. Now that I have new leatherworking tools, I’m trying my hand at stitching. This softcover is made from two sheets of this grey pebbled leather glued together, then stitched along the outside. Boy, this took a long time, though it was incredibly fun!

I wasn’t sure if I wanted the stitching to stand out a lot, so I stuck with the white, which gives it a bit of a luminous sheen when held in the right light. I stitched all along the outside, and used the chainstitch method along the spine. As a final touch, I rounded the corners and burnished the edges of the leather. For a bit of extra stability on the spine, I glued on some black cardstock.
