The moment I saw this fabric, I immediately thought of making a sheep-themed notebook. Not only have I been volunteering at an animal sanctuary as of late (which houses multiple sweet sheep), I’ve always loved the animals in general. As such, while this book is sheep themed, it is entirely vegan.
I chose case binding for this book, purely so the attention could go to the fuzziness of the cover instead of being taken away by a design on the spine, though in future, I may make another book with this fabric and include a specific design when stitching that I’ve seen done before. For now, I’m not practiced enough at it.
This book is 280 pages of lined cream Strathmore paper, and at the bottom outside corner of each page is an imprint of a sheep—one I know personally. She’s quite photogenic and the hope is that she bring good luck and inspiration to whomever receives this book.
It took a little thinking to work around the fluffiness while gluing on the interior pages, but I ended up figuring it out. I sheared back the curls; then, to hide my cutting line, I lined the edges in decotape (black, sparkly, to match the black paper). Overall, I’m quite proud of this notebook.
