The second notebook to come from this iridescent fabric! (The first was for a custom order.)
I’d say that the hardest part of this project was lining the fabric pattern onto the spine. It’s a mirrored, so if it was off by even an eight of an inch it would look sloppy. This was especially a problem since I used a single piece of fabric all the way across instead of making the front, back, and spine all separately. Still, I think it was entirely worth it. I used the same cactus silk fabric as many of my projects, though this one is fancier due not only to the pattern stitched into the cotton base, but because of the colour-changing effect of the silk when held in a certain light.
This book was casebound, meaning I stitched all five signatures using the French Link method before gluing the spine, headbands, and end sheets. Glue was also used to attach the text into the cover. I used the same fabric of the cover in my headbands to maintain consistency, and so as not to take away from the beauty of the fabric, I used plain black cardstock for the interior.
After discussing the cover, there’s not much to say for the interior of this notebook. It has 200 plain lined pages. The lines are spaced at 14 points, which is the same distance as most adult fiction books, so it’s ideal for smaller, tighter writing.
