I have quite a bit of this fabric, and this is the first book that came to me to make. I like how calm yet elegant this pattern is, and I thought it would suit the buttonhole method, though I didn’t add any decorative pages to the signatures, which is typical for books like this. I figured that the white/cream of the paper would go well with the white embroidery on the fabric, which it does.

This hardcover is 5.25 inches by 8.25 inches, and the pages, rather than being lined, have a light pattern of dots which are great for writing, drawing, and designing—whichever you want to do). The dots aren’t too dark that they stand out, but not too light that you can’t see them.

The interior paper of the book is light blue construction paper. I chose the colour to match the cover fabric, and I like the texture of construction paper. Everything about this book is meant to emulate calm, from the colour to the texture. There are seven signatures like many of my other notebooks, which gives this book 280 pages for whatever function you choose for it.
