Johnny S. Miller reached out to me through Fiverr for copyediting this non-fiction book of his. It’s not a genre I've done before, but the method of copyediting non-fiction is the same as fiction for the most part. There’s just a few additional things to do.

The Process

We started with a sample edit, then began the project. As I do with all my copyediting jobs, I began with a style sheet, and went through using Find & Replace to ensure consistency in spelling. From there, I read the manuscript from beginning to end using the Read Aloud function, pausing when necessary to fix spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. After that, I went through it once more for the non-fiction aspects, checking sources, research, and accuracy.

It was a new experience for me, but quite enjoyable - with the added bonus of learning a few things along the way!
