This second project also took place through Fiverr. For this project and the next one, I created a custom order for Libana to cover all our bases and ensure her mansucript was the best it could be before publication.

The Process

The process for Icebound Hearts was the same as with The Perfect Men. This book also has Romance as its primary genre, though it has a secondary figure skating plot that ran underneath.

I began copyediting by using Find & Replace to once again ensure Canadian spelling and root out any trouble words. I checked punctuation, removing unecessary spaces and tabs, and replacing primes with proper quotation marks.

Then came the reading. Since I was providing both line editing and copyediting for this book, I read through the manuscript twice, first with a focus on line editing aspects of the work: tone, syntax, language, and readability. If there was a spelling mistake here and there, I fixed that as well. The second time through was also read aloud, in which I fixed any technical errors that were previously missed. I looked extra closely at the punctuation and usage of the words, rather than listening to the flow and readbility.
